GNCC Bridal Show Committee

Mission Statement

The mission of the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce Bridal Show Committee is to present to the largest number of brides, the finest wedding services and products; by the most professional and talented providers; at the most breathtaking reception facilities in the tri-state area.

Policies

  1. As this committee represents the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce, the first vendors that will be given the opportunity to participate in our bridal shows will be chamber members in good standing, in accordance with the procedures set forth in this document.

  2. Starting January 1, 2008, chamber members in good standing, who are appointed by the Bridal Show Chairman, will serve for two years.

  3. In compensation for the time, effort, and expenses incurred by the volunteer members of the Bridal Show Committee, they will be assured a table, at a discounted rate, at the bridal shows in which they work to promote.

  4. Due to the limited space that the committee may find in smaller facilities, we have separated the types of vendors into primary and secondary categories. The primary categories consist of vendors whose products or services are needed from the engagement day to the wedding day. The secondary categories are those ancillary products and services that are not integral to the wedding day. The following table lists examples of primary and secondary products and services. Primary vendors will be given tables first before secondary vendors in order to assure that the essential services are available to the attending brides. Not withstanding, a secondary vendor has never been denied a table, in the history of our bridal shows, due to a lack of space at our show. Although the possibility is extremely remote, the policy must be clearly stated.

  1. It is the intent of the Committee to assure that there are as many different types of vendors as possible at our shows. Therefore, there will be only two vendors for each product or service. When there are more than two vendors, they will be afforded the opportunity to participate on a rotating basis.

  2. New chamber members will be put on the bottom of the rotation.

  3. In order to maintain the sequential integrity and the equality of assignments in the rotation process, any chamber member who neglects to submit an application for participation in any one bridal show will be placed at the bottom of the rotation on the subsequent bridal show that they may apply for.

  4. All participating chamber vendors must be members in good standing.

  5. All vendors must provide a reciprocal link to the GNCC Bridal Show web page if they desire to be linked to their site from our vendor page on GNCCbridalshow.com.

Procedures

  1. All chamber members will receive a notice via email notifying them that our next bridal show is open for registration. They may then request an application.

  2. The applications will be sent out with a cover letter from the Chairman of the Bridal Show Committee.

  3. The vendor must complete the application and return both signed copies postmarked or delivered to the chamber office by the cutoff date along with full payment.

  4. After all applications have been received the chairman will assign tables according to the policies set forth in this document.

  5. A fully executed application will then be sent back to the vendor with a floor plan showing the location of the table that has been assigned to the vendor.  The vendor cannot assume that he/she is in the show until he/she receives a fully executed application signed by the Chairman of the Bridal Show Committee or the Executive Director of the Chamber.

  6. If all the tables are not filled after the cut off date the remaining tables will be assigned on a first come first served basis.

  7. The vendor must be set up at the show by the time indicated and remain setup until the break down time on the application. Failure to do so may disqualify them from any future shows.
